The Northampton Historical Commission held its recent annual awards ceremony at McLadden’s Irish Publick House. Commission Chair David Drake presented awards to people who’ve gone the extra mile to restore and re-purpose historic buildings in the city: The 19th century commercial block on Pleasant Street that houses Northampton Coffee made the list, as did McLadden’s, which inhabits the former Pleasant Street Theater space. Curt Gemme, Vice President of McLadden Restaurant Group, spoke about the care that went into crafting the interior of the Irish pub.
