On January 28th, our Executive Chef Dan Henneberger and his wife Crystal welcomed their 4th (Yup, you got that right, 4th....)son, Dalton Cole, into the world. He's a total dreamboat, with a full head of hair and lashes that go on for days. We are so excited for the Henneberger family, and we hope he takes after his mom and dad and falls in love with the restaurant industry so we can put him to work!
Simsbury's "Nightcap Taps N' Apps" Menu Brings a Little Late Night Action to our Favorite Sleepy Little Town!
While the rest of town is fast asleep, our SImsbury location offers up a late night Happy Hour menu that will make you want to stay up past bedtime, and disregard your curfew! There is nothing better than living outside of the big city limits, until you run into a situation where you're hungry, or thirsty, or just want a little company, and everyone has closed up shop for the night... No need to hightail it to the city on those occasions though, because we are now offering a Nightcap Taps N' Apps menu! Come on down and join the rest of the night owls for the best late night action in town!
Those who frequent our West Hartford location have noticed some changes recently... Our flagship pub was in need of some TLC, and we spent a good deal of time giving it the love it deserved. The space is warmer, more comfortable, and a whole lot prettier, thanks to a few coats of paint, gorgeous wallpaper, tons of new drapery, and a whole lot of hard work!
We invite all of our guests; past, present, and future, to join us on Tuesday, October 13th from 4-7 pm, for a extra-happy happy hour. Passed small bites will be shared, as will some samples from our upcoming seasonal cocktail list. Austin of Two Roads Brewing will join in the celebration, as will Alex from our friends at Waypoint Spirits.
Stop by and be our guests!

This week, the team at the office took a road trip. The group wanted to check out some new spaces and figure out exactly what community would be the right fit for our next location. We brought along a cooler filled with craft brews, (we had a driver, of course!) and made a pit stop at Two Roads Brewing Co in Stratford, CT.
They operate in a old factory, and their tasting room nods to the past, incorporating reclaimed lumber, old spools, and bricks that were saved during construction. The equipment used in brewing, however, is state of the art, ensuring that every beer they brew is exactly as intended, each time. Their impeccable system grants them the ability to brew for others. This contract brewing allows New Englanders to drink beers they wouldn't likely see otherwise. A warehouse filled with experimental barrel aged brews, bee hives, a chicken coop, and a stage for outdoor concerts all occupy the space surrounding the main factory, and definitely upped the fun factor.
The visit was a highlight of our road trip, and we look forward to bringing our teams from the restaurants there in the near future! Cheers!
Chef Dan has outdone himself once again, creating a new gastro salad menu for our Connecticut locations that is knocking our socks off. We are now offering up 6 specialty salads in addition to a classic house salad.
Mango chicken, Vermont Harvest, Raspberry Brie, Honey Pear, Baja Salmon, and Cranberry Apple feature fresh ingredients, house made dressings, and unique flavor combinations and are all so amazing our guests will be hard pressed to choose just one!

Couldn't be more pleased or proud to serve Kent Falls Brewing Ales for ALS... We tap Monday, August 10th in our CT locations, and will be donating $1 per pour to the cause.... A extra special hop blend was sent to brewers across the country, and each brewery produced a unique beer with the common goal of raising money for ALS research. One of our new favorite breweries is participating, and we were honored when they asked if we'd like to help out and sell a barrel. Good people, brewing great beer. Doesn't get better than that! #alesforals #kentfallsbrewing #craftbeer #craftbeerbar #dogoodfeelgood
At McLadden's, we celebrate craft beer all day, every day. The first Thursday of every August, however, we have a special kind of celebration. In 2011, some genius, (and a person we would love to party with,) decided that a particular style deserved a day of it's own, and IPA Day was born.
In bars, breweries, and backyards across the USA, craft beer enthusiasts raise glasses filled with the hoppiest of brews and celebrate the IPA...
We brought our "A" game to this party, and have an awesome IPA lineup in each of our locations. Cheers and Beers! Happy IPA day! #ipaday #craftbeer #craftbeerbar #hops #ipa #hoppedup
Founder’s Brewing Co. is a staple in our draught lineup, and their Breakfast Stout is one of our all time favorite brews. This double chocolate coffee oatmeal stout (WHOAH,) is like a meal in a glass, and our bartenders would be hard pressed to identify a single guest who tried it and didn’t fall in love with it….
We haven’t tried selling it to babies, (or anyone under age 21, for that matter,) and we never would. In addition to the fact that we would we NEVER give a minor alcohol, for obvious reasons; the thought of a baby hopped up on caffeine and sugar is pretty terrifying. The whole situation would be plain wrong, on a variety of levels. We are pretty sure that Founders is against giving brews to babes as well…
Some people think, however, that Founders Brewing Co. needs to re-evaluate their marketing, as their Breakfast Stout features a beautiful little baby eating his morning oats, cramming his cheeks full of the delicious goodness. Does this appeal to minors, or let grown ups know that what the bottle contains will bring them back to a time when all was right in the world, and a mouthful of something delicious was all it took to make them happy?
New Hampshire doesn’t feel it appropriate to sell alcohol that is branded in such a manner that it MAY appeal to the younger set; apparently a pic of a baby eating oatmeal may be construed as such, when adhered to a bottle o' brew….
We love Founder’s solution; the baby has left his “crib,” and like any polite host, he left a note on the fridge with a contact number…. Give him a ring, and see what he has to say!
